Rector Labor Day Picnic
09/04/2017 - 09/04/2017
2015 Rector Labor Day Picnic
Beginning on Friday before the Monday Labor Day holiday, the hometown tradition of returning to see family and friends brings so many visitors to Rector that the town bulges at its boundaries. Family reunions, class reunions and a time of general gathering make Rector the place to be on Labor Day. Begun in 1941, the celebration has grown from a one day event into four days of events.
A rodeo, beauty pageants for all ages, a talent show, political speeches, music, a parade, games, rides, and of course food beckon former residents and people who have heard of our celebration from all over the United States and world. The event supports Woodland Heights Cemetery, and this year a record amount of funds were generated for the cemetery's upkeep.
